Born to Cypriot parents in North London, Katina started writing songs at the piano and performing from the age of 10. She studied music at York University and Trinity College of Music.

In 1999 she went from writing and performing for her own funk band, The Rebo Band to singing with DV8 Physical Theatre (The Happiest Day of My Life and Living Costs), touring Europe and the UK.

In 2001 Rembetika (1920s Greek Urban blues) became a major musical influence thanks to the guitarist/bouzouki player Chris Morphitis and together they set up Mavrika, taking crackly old Greek 1920s songs and reinterpreting them with various line ups, including hip hop band Raw Dog (Tom Skinner, Jesse Hackett, Dario Rossetti).

She has also worked with the underground UK hip-hop crew Task Force (appearing on their You're Not Us EP), Elmore Judd, Mara Carlyle and Max de Wardener (Accidental).

Since 2004 Katina has been writing her latest set of songs creating her own unique sound. Her debut EP, Shine is being released on 31st October 2005. Her album is being recorded over the next few months and will be released by F-IRE in 2006.
